The news came in a post on the establishment's Facebook page, though no specific reason for the abrupt closure was given.

After more than a decade of serving students, visitors, and residents in Tuscaloosa, one of the city's favorite restaurants will be missed. They were known to have a killer cheeseburger, and their late operating hours enticed students and townies alike after a long night on the town.

"Thank you all for the love and support you've showed us for over a decade," the post read.

Big Daddy's lovers flooded the post with comments of sadness and well-wishes. Although there is no explanation for its closing, supporters are wishing them luck in their future endeavors.
