Halloween is this Sunday, but trick-or-treat festivities are happening all weekend long across West Alabama. When headed out for evening events, my advice is to be sure to bundle up because lows across our coverage areas of West Alabama will be in the mid-40s.

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist reports that the “deep, cold core upper low northeast of Alabama will slowly move away over the next 24 hours, but wrap around clouds will linger over the northern half of Alabama today. And, patchy light rain or drizzle remains possible with a high only in the 55-59 degree range. But, to the south, sunshine returns to South Alabama today with a high closer to 70 degrees.”

We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
