Another installment of the soap opera that is President Trump's obsession with UA graduate and CNN Chief White House correspondent Kaitlin Collins is playing out. A day after he questioned how she got into the United Nations to cover his speech to the UN General Assembly, he called the Alabama native a "sleazebag" on his Truth Social internet site.

Earlier this week, he questioned how Collins was able to cover his appearance in New York after he had banned CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House and removed their credentials. To that, she told him the credentials were extended by the UN and not the White House.

In his Truth Social post Wednesday, he wrote, "All of the SLEAZEBAGS, like Third Rate 'Reporter,' Kaitlan Collins, of Fake News CNN, a truly unhappy person, said they weren't going to cover me."

Trump then questioned, "Then why were they ranting and raving like Lunatics, in the Press Area, at the United Nations? Why was she there?"

CNN pointed out that the network has never said it would not cover Trump.

He further attacked Collins and her network, along with MS NOW (calling it MSDNC) and claimed they have a "Trump addiction" and are "sick, treasonous and demented."

The 80-year-old president has repeatedly singled out the 34-year-old Collins, often criticizing her coverage and CNN more broadly as “fake news.”

He claims she never smiles, and he has regularly been hostile, personal, and dismissive toward her. Last December he referred to her as, "...always stupid, and nasty" when she asked him about construction of his controversial ballroom.

For her part, Collins has retained her composure and professionalism. She told The Daily Show that she refuses to make Trump’s insults personally, saying she tries to keep the focus on her reporting rather than on his attacks.

She told show host Jon Stewart. “It’s really not about me.” She says if she reacts emotionally, the emphasis shifts from her reporting to the back-and-forth between her and the president.
