Thomas “Tom” Allen Ellard (October 19th, 1943 – July 23rd, 2025)

Thomas A. Ellard “Tom”, of Berry, Ala., passed away on July 23, 2025.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sherrian R. Ellard. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Angus Ellard; mother, Grey Ellard; brothers, James A. Ellard, William G. Ellard, George C. Ellard, and Marshall Ellard; and sisters, Mary Sue Wellman and Jane Averette.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2025, at Berry Baptist Church with Bro. Rod Ward and Bro. Tim Fields officiating. Burial to follow at Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Vance, with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Berry Baptist Church.

He was an avid horseman and won numerous blue ribbons. After moving to Berry, he made many friends in the community and was a generous and helping friend. He served in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He loved tending to his garden and harvesting his vegetables. He had an affinity for his animals, which included not only his dogs but also managing his livestock.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Allen Averette, Dr. John Averette, Rick Boyd, Butch Ellard, Lunie Dunn, and Jon Roebuck.
