Theodore Bjorn (January 23rd, 1941 – July 25th, 2025)

Theodore Bjorn, age 84, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away July 25, 2025, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

His Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi University Parish on the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa, with Father Ray Dunmeyer officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore Bjorn and Marjorie Oswald Bjorn; and son, Matthew Scott Bjorn.

Survivors include his wife, Iris Shaw Bjorn of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; daughter, Kari-Lyn Bjorn of Modesto, Calif.; and grandchildren, Kristopher Gottlieb, Zachary Gottlieb, and Rebecca Palmer; great-grandchildren, Kinsley Gottlieb, Bella Gottlieb, Nolan Palmer, Lila Palmer, and Grady Palmer.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, he graduated from Christian Brothers College, Memphis, Tenn., with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and from The University of Alabama with an M.S. in Electrical Engineering. He was married to Iris Shaw Bjorn and they had two children, Kari-Lyn Bjorn of Modesto, Calif., and Matthew S. Bjorn, deceased.
