Some Volunteers Still Needed for Chuck’s Thanksgiving Feast for Tuscaloosa Habitat
A few volunteers are still needed for this Thursday's annual Thanksgiving Day Feast at Chuck's Fish in downtown Tuscaloosa, where thousands are expected to eat free meals during a treasured event benefitting a crucial area nonprofit.
Friends, families and neighbors are welcome to a complimentary meal regardless of whether they're in need, with donations of any amount encouraged. Those funds raised will directly benefit Habitat of Humanity of Tuscaloosa.
Their mission, covered often in the Thread, is to build affordable homes and sell them at a fair market price through 30-year, zero-interest loans.
“We’re incredibly grateful for Chuck’s Fish and the many volunteers who make this feast possible each year," said Ellen Potts, executive director for Habitat. "Every plate served helps build strength, stability, and a brighter future for families in our community.”

The Thursday feast is the 16th iteration of the community event, and last year, more than 2,200 meals were served at Chuck's or to-go.
Some volunteers are still needed to serve food being prepped today and tomorrow, and those who are willing to serve on Thanksgiving day can find out more and sign up here.
The family-friendly event is open to all and will be held at Chuck’s Fish in downtown Tuscaloosa on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Chuck's is at 508 Greensboro Avenue in Tuscaloosa.
