A young teenager was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Greene County Wednesday afternoon, State Troopers have confirmed.

Corporal Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said the victim was the passenger in a 2019 Honda Accord that was struck by a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe on U.S. Highway 43.

The accident occurred around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday near mile marker 139, a mile north of Forkland, Alabama.

King said the driver of the Tahoe, a 49-year-old man, was injured in the crash. The driver of the Honda and her other passenger, a 5-year-old child, were also hurt. All three were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The 13-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, King said.

Nothing further was available Thursday night as Troopers continue to investigate the deadly wreck.
