The story of the week was the mismatch Alabama's O-line had taking on the dominant Georgia defense. It looked like they may not be able to overcome the talent of Georgia's defensive front seven. Instead, the story was flipped and this game was won up front where the Crimson Tide offensive line took the challenge head on and gave Heisman candidate quarterback Young time to shine.

Alabama redshirt senior offensive lineman, Chris Owens announced on his social media that he will opt to return to Tuscaloosa for his sixth season in 2021. Owens, a reserve offensive lineman was thrust into action in the season's final two games against Notre Dame and Ohio State after starting center, Landon Dickerson, went down with a knee injury.
