Stillman President Yolanda Page attended and spoke at the event where the UNCF officials announced the huge grant to support UNCF's capital campaign courtesy of Lilly Endowment.

WELL, I had it on pretty good authority from a man who has serious ties to the University Of Alabama. He was not employed by the university, I want to make that clear. However, he told me that it was going to happen so I took his word and wrote this story below:

The storms that rolled through almost all of Alabama last evening knocked out power for thousands in the Tuscaloosa area. At this time, we have not received any reports of significant damage or injuries in the region.

Local West Alabama law enforcement agencies are closing out 2023 with another push to recruit and hire for multiple positions. The Tuscaloosa Thread has already reported on the efforts to hire officers to help reverse the issue of the Tuscaloosa Police Department being understaffed in 2023. As we wrap up the year, the TPD is trying to encourage experienced officers and recruits to join the force in 2024.

Reviews of the concert last year were very good. A crowd from teens to older folks enjoyed every minute of this fun concert event. The excitement over last year's event led to the demand for another Christmas show. Northport City Council President Jeff Hogg appeared on the morning radio show "Steve & DC" on WFFN-FM (95.3 The Bear) and claimed the Kentuck Board "brought this story to the media". "The story" is the recent news that the Kentuck Festival is looking for a new home for the successful arts fair usually hosted by the city of Northport.
