Police found the victim "in his front yard naked and covered in multiple stab wounds," later describing injuries "on his chin, left ear, upper right shoulder, left buttocks, left side, right chest area and stomach area."

Officers also reportedly found a pair of "work-style shears" on the porch covered in blood.

The victim was taken to the ICU at DCH Regional Medical Center. Still, investigators interviewed him and some witnesses to the aftermath of the alleged assault and identified a suspect, 32-year-old Jesse Sillero, who had been detained on the scene.

The victim reportedly told police that he allowed Sillero into his home to use his shower before the suspect assaulted him. In addition to the shears, investigators reportedly recovered a box-cutter-style knife from Sillero with what appeared to be blood on its blade.

Sillero reportedly has not cooperated with the investigation and refused to talk about how the victim came to be injured but police noted a bite mark on his arm.

After reviewing evidence and talking with all cooperative parties, investigators arrested Sillero and charged him with attempted murder.

The 32-year-old Bessemer man was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where his bond was set at $75,000. He remains there on Monday.
