Police in Tuscaloosa County are investigating after shots rang out at a gathering off Highway 69 South Saturday night.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said county sheriff's deputies were called to the 1800 block of Englewood Drive late Saturday night on reports of a shooting.

Kennedy said multiple shots had been fired during a gathering or party on Englewood, which is in southern Tuscaloosa County near Shelton State Community College and the grocery stores close to it.

Two vehicles were struck by gunfire, Kennedy said, but no people were injured.

The VCU is investigating and no further details were available Monday morning.
