Shots Fired in Holt Wednesday Afternoon, Drawing Large Police Presence
Sheriff's deputies responded to a park in Holt Wednesday afternoon to investigate reports of several gunshots in the area.
Few details are available at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, but Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told the Thread that the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office responded to an area near Evans-Roshell Park in Holt Wednesday after callers reported multiple shots fired in the area.
The park is behind the Holt Senior Center on Alabama Avenue.
Kennedy said the VCU is on the scene to assist TCSO deputies, but so far, police have not found anyone who was struck by gunfire.
Potential witnesses are being interviewed and other evidence is being gathered Wednesday, and people should avoid the area if possible while investigators sort things out.
