Police in Greene County have identified the 25-year-old man who was found shot to death off a county road there earlier this month.

Greene County Sheriff Jonathan Benison said deputies were called to a stretch of County Road 181 near the community of Lewiston, Alabama on the morning of July 14th.

Law enforcement officers there discovered a body that had been shot multiple times.

On Monday afternoon, Benison issued a press release identifying the victim as 25-year-old Douglas Lamar Robinson, Jr., who was from Linden, Alabama.

The sheriff said his office is cooperating with the Major Crime Unit of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's State Bureau of Investigation to look into the homicide.
