The National Weather Service has issued a severe Thunderstorm for the northern half of Alabama Sunday afternoon, including Tuscaloosa County and other parts of our coverage area.

The watch is in place from 12:15 until 8 p.m. in 27 Alabama counties, including Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Tuscaloosa and Walker Counties.

According to the NWS, afternoon storms could bring hail to the size of a ping pong ball, wind gusts up to 75 mph and frequent lightning to a wide area of the Tennessee Valley.
