Second Victim Dies After Two-Vehicle Wreck Near Forkland, Alabama
A two-vehicle wreck in Greene County, Alabama already responsible for the death of a 13-year-old has claimed a second life, State Troopers said Friday night.
The deadly accident, first reported Thursday, took place near Forkland Wednesday afternoon.
Corporal Regional King, a spokesperson for the Troopers in West Alabama, said 36-year-old Amy Flowers was driving on U.S. Highway 43 with two children in her 2019 Honda Accord when they collided with a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe being driven by an Akron man.
One child, 13, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck and everyone else involved -- Flowers, a 5-year-old in her Honda and the driver of the truck -- were all injured and hospitalized.
Friday night, Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey informed local media that Flowers has succumbed to her injuries at the hospital and died at an area hospital.
King and Bailey said Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division are still investigating the fatal accident.
