Two men have now been arrested and charged with murder for the Halloween morning shooting death of a 22-year-old man in Tuscaloosa County.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said deputies were dispatched to Timbertop Lane in Fosters on October 31st at 6:30 a.m. on reports of a shooting.

A deputy paramedic was first on scene and found 22-year-old Jaylin Reed suffering from a gunshot wound. The first responder tried to render aid, but Reed died at the scene of the crime.

The VCU has been investigating since the shooting took place, and arrested 20-year-old Tywann Long and charged him with murder the day after the shooting.

On Thursday, Kennedy told local media a second arrest has been made - the VCU charged 22-year-old Justin Rubin with murder in connection to the deadly shooting.

The full details of the killing have not been released, but Kennedy said last week that the sale of illegal narcotics was likely a factor.

The investigation into the murder is still ongoing, and anyone with any information is urged to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at (205) 464-8690.
