
Theatre Tuscaloosa Opens Scrooge the Musical Friday at Shelton State
Scrooge The Musical, an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, opens on Friday, December 12th at the Bean-Brown Theatre at Shelton State Community College.
A production of Theatre Tuscaloosa, “Scrooge” is based on the 1970 movie that starred Albert Finney.

The production includes a stellar cast of both experienced performers and fresh newcomers, with Jim Merrill returning to the stage after twenty years to play the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.
A charming and entertaining production, the story reveals the true meaning of home as Scrooge eventually opens his heart and embraces the spirit of Christmas and community. It’s a timeless story in a big and delightful musical setting.
In addition to Jim Merrill, the large cast includes: Charles Prosser as the “Spirit of Christmas Present”; George Thaggard as Marley; Mac Hackney as Bob Cratchit; Molly Page as Mrs. Cratchit; William McCool as Tiny Tim; and a host of other talented actors, singers, and dancers.
Matt Davis directs Scrooge The Musical with Nicholas Vasilios Pappas as Musical Director; Wheeler Kincaid, Technical Director; Jeanette Waterman, Costume Design; Jennifer Guffin, Stage Manager, along with an experienced technical team.
