In an impressive testament to how quickly contractors can knock projects out during the summer in Tuscaloosa, the new-to-market Scooter's Coffee drive-thru officially opened for business Saturday morning.

As the Thread exclusively reported earlier this summer, the Nebraska-based coffee shop broke ground on their first-ever Tuscaloosa location earlier this summer in Parkview Plaza, across the street from Central High's football field.

The store, which was little more than a smattering of boards sticking out of a foundation in early June, has a small footprint and is already finished and serving customers Saturday.

According to their website, this is the 13th Scooter's location to open in Alabama, and the first in the Tuscaloosa area.

"Our signature drink is the Caramelicious, and the menu features an array of specialty espresso beverages, single-origin coffee, fruit smoothies, Scoot Infusions, Cold Brew, baked-from-scratch pastries, and savory breakfast options," a spokesperson told the Thread. earlier this year "Scooter’s also recently released its first-ever ready-to-drink canned flavored lattes!"

They've also just introduced their first-ever kids' menu.

Most drinks are available hot, iced or blended, and the drive-thru-only model ensures they get to customers fast.

Scooter's is open now, in front of the new and expanded Druid City Brewing Co. in Parkview Plaza off 15th Street and Hackberry Lane.
