A single-vehicle crash in Sumter County killed a woman from Bellamy, Alabama around noon Saturday.

State Trooper Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said the crash occurred at approximately 11:45 a.m. Saturday along Sumter County Road 13.

King said Jennifer Diane Welch, 52, was driving her 2008 Nissan Sentra when it left the roadway and struck a tree.

King said Welch was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
