Sadie's Diner, the meat-and-three attached to the new Sprint Mart in Vance, opened for business again after closing for several weeks to hire and train staff.

As the Thread reported last month, Sprint Mart and Sadies opened to huge demand in mid-October across from the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International plant in east Tuscaloosa County.

A day later, the owners and operators at the restaurant made the difficult decision to shut the restaurant down to hire and train more staff and better meet the high demand they were surprised by upon opening.

"Sprint Mart takes great pride in providing world-class service, so in order to accommodate the overwhelming support, Sadie’s will be temporarily closed while we hire more staff and make adjustments to better serve the Vance community," they wrote in October.

A little more than three weeks later, the new diner re-opened for business Wednesday.

Some notable changes are in place, though - Sadie's was meant to be open 24/7, like Sprint Mart, but for now the restaurant will only open for breakfast and lunch, from 5 a.m. until 2 p.m., 7 days a week. They said on Facebook the limited hours are in place until further notice.

Their menu has been updated to expedite service, and offerings from the local bakery are being expanded. The service station and restaurant are also still hiring help in Vance - learn more at https://www.sprintmart.com/employment/.

Sadies is open again for breakfast and lunch at 10565 Daimler Benz Boulevard in Vance.
