Rockford Man Dies After Motorcycle Crash in Tuscaloosa Last Week
A motorcycle crash just outside Tuscaloosa has led to the death of the rider involved, State Troopers said Wednesday.
Corporal Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency in west Alabama, said 54-year-old James Atkins of Rockford, Alabama was riding a 2023 Kawasaki 650 when he left U.S. 82 and struck an embankment.

The single-vehicle crash happened near Mile Marker 57, about 3 miles outside of Tuscaloosa City Limits, King said, and took place last Wednesday, March 19th.
Atkins was critically injured in the crash and was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries and died.
King had no further information Wednesday and said Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
