Richard Maurice Marsh (November 15th, 1939 – July 2nd, 2025)

Richard Maurice Marsh, 85 of Tuscaloosa, passed away July 2, 2025 at his residence.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 11:00 am at Magnolia Chapel South with Dr. Kelvin Croom officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 am ~ 11:00 am on Thursday.

He is preceded in death by his wife; Peggy O'Bryant Marsh, mother; Grace Nell DeVaughn, father; James Luther Marsh, sisters; Mavis Lillian Marsh, Winnie Marsh, and brother; Charles Avery Marsh.

Survivors include his daughter; Kristi Ruth Abernathy, sons; Bradley Maurice Marsh and Johnny Oliver Abernathy, grandchildren; Amanda Farr (Byron), Charles Taylor (Meagan), 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard served as a mechanic in the Army, and worked as a printer for the State of Alabama until his retirement. In his free time , being a paramedic, he worked in first aid at ballgames, concerts. He loved campaigning for politicians that he believed in and always loved traveling out of town to visit his relatives. Richard was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in the 90's until he transferred his membership to Circlewood where he was a member and attended until his health declined and he could no longer attend. He will be deeply missed by all.

Pallbearers will be Byron Farr, Johnny Abernathy, Bradley Marsh and Charles Taylor.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital for Children, or Shriners Hospital for Children.
