Police Say Thursday Shooting Happened After Fight in Holt, Suspect Arrested
The young man who walked into DCH Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound Thursday afternoon was injured during a fight in the Holt community, police said Friday.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said officers and deputies were called to the hospital Thursday around 4 o'clock on reports of a 21-year-old shooting victim being admitted.

After further investigation, Kennedy said the VCU determined the scene of the shooting was in the 900 block of 44th Avenue East - a residential neighborhood in the Holt community in Tuscaloosa County.
Kennedy said the VCU processed the scene and reviewed both physical and video evidence and also spoke to witnesses to the shooting.
Ultimately, investigators determined that Keyon Haythan Bourque, 23 was in a verbal altercation with the victim before he drew a weapon and shot him.
Kennedy said Bourque was located by the US Marshall’s Task Force on Friday and was charged with attempted murder after an interview with the VCU.
The 23-year-old suspect was booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where he is being held without bond until one is set by a judge.
