Person Hurt When Lightning Strikes Light Pole at Vance Softball Game
A person was hospitalized Saturday afternoon after they were hurt by lightning striking a light pole at a softball field in Vance.
Harold Mcadory, chief of the Vance Fire Protection District, said the incident happened around 12 noon.

Mcadory said a softball game was under way when a bolt of lightning struck a light pole at the ball park.
He said something called a feeder band arced off the pole and struck a person at the park.
Mcadory said because of privacy laws, he could not say much about the victim except they were transported to a Birmingham area hospital.
