Pedestrian Struck, Killed on I-359 in Tuscaloosa Thursday Morning
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 359 in Tuscaloosa early Thursday morning, which has closed part of the highway as police investigate the fatal accident.
Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers were called to the area of I-359 and Oscar Baxter Drive in Tuscaloosa just before 4 a.m. on reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Taylor said police and medics rushed to the scene and arrived within minutes, but the victim had already died from his injuries when they arrived.
The southbound lanes of the interstate have been closed from the area south of its on-ramp to I-20/59 to Skyland Boulevard.
