A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 82 outside of Tuscaloosa early Monday morning, State Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency have confirmed to the Tuscaloosa Thread.

A spokesperson for the Troopers said details are scarce as of 9:15 a.m. Monday, but did confirm that sometime around 6 a.m., a pedestrian was involved in a deadly accident on Highway 82.

The accident, which ALGO Tuscaloosa classified as a medical emergency, took place near Winchester Drive in Duncanville.

A spokesman for the Troopers said they have not yet been able to identify the victim who was killed and notify family members of the accident.

More details on the fatality are expected to be released sometime later Monday.
