A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Fayette, Pickens, Lamar, Walker, Marion and Winston Counties, as well as more to the north which are outside our coverage area.

A NWS spokesperson said the primary threats will be damaging winds and hail, but the threat of a tornado cannot be ruled out.
