Quang said the SUV was being driven by a young man from Centerville.

The teenager from Northport was struck just before 11 p.m. that night and was critically injured.

Quang said they were treated at an area hospital but succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead last Wednesday.

The collision happened on U.S. 82 about four miles east of Tuscaloosa, Quang said, and no other information was available Tuesday.

ALEA does not release the identity of teenage victims of traffic fatalities.
