The Northport Police Department has identified the 21-year-old woman who died Sunday evening after a wreck on Highway 43. Another victim, 15, remains in critical condition Monday morning.

Keith Carpenter, the assistant chief of the Northport Police Department, said officers were called to the intersection of Highway 43 and Flatwoods Road around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, where a 2007 Mustang had been struck by a 2005 GMC Sierra.

Both the driver and the passenger of the Mustang were badly injured in the collision and were rushed to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Later Sunday night, the driver, 21-year-old Maci Alexis Faulkner, succumbed to her injuries and died at the hospital. Her 15-year-old passenger was airlifted to a Birmingham hospital in critical condition.

Carpenter said the driver of the truck, a 29-year-old Northport woman, was not injured in the wreck.
