Northport Man Killed in Single-Car Wreck in Winston County Tuesday Night
A 50-year-old Northport man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on a highway in Winston County late Tuesday night, Alabama State Troopers have confirmed.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency shared news of the fatal accident Wednesday morning and said the victim, Paul T. Gonnering, was driving a Volkswagen Passat on Alabama Highway 13 late Tuesday when he left the roadway shortly before midnight.
Corporal Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Troopers in West Alabama, said Gonnering struck an embankment after leaving the road and was reportedly not using a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, which was around five miles north of Lynn, Alabama.
King said no other details are available Wednesday and that Troopers continue to investigate the deadly accident.
