Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Troopers in West Alabama, said the accident happened around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday on Dogwood Trace Road outside of Gordo.

King said the victim, 22-year-old Garrett Edward Pritchett, was traveling the road in a 2002 Dodge Ram when the truck left the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.

Troopers said Pritchett was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Nothing further was available Thursday morning as Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
