No one was hurt and no property was damaged Wednesday night when shots rang out not far from downtown Northport.

Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter told the Tuscaloosa Thread that the Northport Police Department received reports of shots fired in the area of 501 Bridge Avenue, near the Chevron just off Rice Mine Road.

Carpenter said investigators found shell casings there but no evidence that bullets struck any victims, buildings or vehicles in the area.

Carpenter said the call came in around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
