Management at the Nike Factory Store in Tuscaloosa's Midtown Village confirmed Tuesday that they will be closing its doors permanently later this month.

Corporate policy prevented local employees from discussing the decision in detail, but staff at the Tuscaloosa store said they could reveal that the store's last day of operation will be September 24th.

The properties in Midtown Village are leased by SRS Real Estate Partners, and the Tuscaloosa Thread reached out with questions about the Nike store's future and possible replacements for the anchor store last month, but inquiries were redirected to the McGary Group in Coronado, California, who did not respond to requests for more information before publication.

Right now, it appears that space in the shopping center will simply become vacant by the end of the month.
