Police: Tuscaloosa, Alabama Motel Standoff Suspects Identified as Father/Son Duo
New details have been released after a four-hour standoff occurred at a Motel 6 in South Tuscaloosa.
Stephanie Taylor, the Public Information Officer for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, issued a statement shortly after the incident peacefully concluded.
"A 911 caller reported shots fired at the motel on McFarland Boulevard at 7:23 a.m. Officers arrived to find a dog that had been shot and killed," Taylor said. "No people were injured, except for a suspect who was bitten by the dog before the other suspect shot her."
The suspects were identified as 43-year-old Wade Alan Christian and 18-year-old Carson Christian, a father and son. They both are being faced with first-degree burglary charges and are expected to receive more.
The father was the one who participated in the standoff after his son surrendered immediately upon the police's arrival.
The standoff was carried out by TPD's Special Response Team, the Criminal Investigations Division's burglary unit, patrol officers and administrators.
