Monkey Reportedly on the Loose in Tuscaloosa, Police Warn Not to Approach

An "actual monkey" is reportedly loose in the Skyland Boulevard area of Tuscaloosa on Tuesday, and law enforcement is warning anyone who spots the creature to stay away.

According to an almost unbelievable Facebook post from the Tuscaloosa Police Department, a resident reported to animal control that there is a monkey in the neighborhood of 41st Street and Skyland Boulevard.

While the department is trying to sort out whether the pictures are real or the product of artificial intelligence, they have warned residents to stay away.

"We decided to post these pics that were provided to animal control out of an abundance of caution: If you spot a monkey, please don’t approach, feed, chase or try to catch it. Keep children and pets away, and call 205-349-2121 to report its location," their post read.

The police department said they would provide more information on the strange sightings if and when they get to the bottom of the cartoonish situation.
