The robbery of a pharmacy in Brookwood drew a large police presence Monday afternoon, although the suspect had already left the scene when they arrived.

Deputy Jessica McDaniel and Sergeant Josh Hastings confirmed the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office was called to assist the Broodwood Police Department in responding to a robbery at Mills Pharmacy.

The business is located on Highway 216 across from Brookwood Elementary School.

UPDATE, 4:15 P.M.: Brookwood Police Chief Jimmy Sellers told the Thread two black males robbed the pharmacy in broad daylight around 11:15 a.m. He said they were armed, restrained the staff working there and stole drugs from the pharmacy before fleeing the scene.

Police say the suspects fled east in a black Honda Accord.
