Megyn Kelly to Moderate December GOP Debate at Alabama’s Moody Music Hall
Journalist and media personality Megyn Kelly will come to Tuscaloosa next month to host the fourth Republican Presidential Primary Debate at the Frank Moody Music Building on the University of Alabama campus, organizers announced Thursday.
NewsNation, a fast-growing cable news network, will host the debate on December 6th. Kelly already has five GOP debates under her belt, including the first one of the 2016 election cycle, which NewsNation said drew 24 million views and became the most-watched primary debate in history.
Kelly will be joined by Elizabeth Vargas, the anchor of NewsNation’s Elizabeth Vargas Reports, and the Editor-in-Chief of The Washington Free Beacon Eliana Johnson.
NewsNation confirmed the debate will take place in the Frank Moody Music Building and be broadcast on their cable news network. It will also be simulcast in the country’s Eastern and Central time zones on Nexstar’s broadcast television network, The CW. A live audio broadcast of the event will be available on SiriusXM Triumph channel 111.
Alex House, Assistant Director of Communications at the University of Alabama, said the Capstone is looking forward to hosting the debate.
"The University of Alabama welcomes the Republican National Committee and its presidential candidates to our campus for their upcoming primary debate," House said. "As a public institution, UA promotes free speech and facilitates numerous opportunities for civil discourse and presentation of ideas. Our campus is honored to serve as a neutral site for the debate, and hosting the event is not an endorsement of any candidate or political party."
