Northwest Alabama School Resource Officer Charged With Sexual Relationship with Student
A school resource officer in northwest Alabama's Marion County has been arrested and charged with multiple sex crimes over an alleged relationship with a student there.
On Wednesday, Senior Trooper Gregory Corble with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said its State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) was asked to assist with a child exploitation case in the city of Hamilton.
Corble said the SBI was looking into allegations that 31-year-old STO Mardrea Dashawn Massey was involved in an illegal relationship with a student.

Massey, a Sulligent resident, was temporarily serving as an SRO with the Hamilton Police Department when the investigation began.
Corble said the SBI completed its investigation and turned over evidence to the Marion County District Attorney’s Office, which presented it to a Grand Jury last week.
Masset was indicted and charged with a School Employee Engaging in a Sex Act with a Student Under the Age of 19 and a School Employee Distributing or Soliciting Obscene Material to or from a Student for sending an explicit video of himself to the student.
Massey was booked into the Marion County Jail.
Corble said no additional details are available at this time.
