Man Shot When West Tuscaloosa Dispute Ends in Gunfire Wednesday Night
A man was shot and suffered minor injuries Wednesday night when a dispute in west Tuscaloosa led to fighting and gunfire.
Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, confirmed that officers were called to an area near Freeman Park on 19th Street in Tuscaloosa's West End Wednesday nights on reports of a shooting.
Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said police believe an earlier dispute had led to a fight that ended when a gun was fired.
Sellers said a man was shot in his hand and was treated for wounds the VCU does not consider life-threatening.
