In a new deposition, investigators said the victim and a friend went to Country Club Apartments on Mimosa Park Road in southern Tuscaloosa just after 12 a.m. on the morning of December 29th.

As soon as the victim stepped out of their car, he was allegedly approached by two men and two women, and someone hit in the back of the head with a pistol.

He allegedly stood up and tried to run away, but was "cornered in the parking lot" and held at gunpoint.

The group reportedly demanded his belongings, so the victim handed over his car keys and phone before running to find help.

Investigators in Tuscaloosa took on the case and identified one of the suspects as 21-year-old Jayun Marcellus Bester, a Tuscaloosa resident.

Officers caught up with Bester this week and arrested him Wednesday. Bester reportedly admitted to being at the apartment complex at the time of the robbery and said he picked up the victim's keys.

Bester has been charged with first-degree robbery and placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where his bond is set at $60,000. Jail records indicate his bond for a pre-existing drug arrest has been temporarily revoked,
