Driver Seriously Injured, 11 Cars Damaged in Major Wreck at Tuscaloosa Hyundai
A West Alabama man was seriously injured Sunday morning in a major wreck at the Tuscaloosa Hyundai car dealership that also damaged 10 unoccupied vehicles.
Stephanie Taylor, a spokeswoman for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers were called to the car lot on Hargrove Road East just before 9 a.m. Sunday, where a badly damaged silver Ford Mustang was crashed upside down in the parking lot.
No one was at the scene of the accident, Taylor said, but 10 unoccupied vehicles parked at the dealership had been damaged in the incident.
Taylor said police believe the driver of the Mustang was traveling south on Hargrove Road behind the dealership when he left the road way at speed and collided with the parked vehicles before coming to a rest upside down.
Soon after officers arrived on the scene at the dealership, a woman called TPD to report she had taken the driver of the Mustang to DCH's Northport Medical Center across the Black Warrior River.
Taylor said the driver is a 20-year-old man who was being treated in the emergency room for serious injuries as of Sunday afternoon.
