Folks commuting to work on McFarland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa may want to seek an alternate route. A two-vehicle wreck involving an 18-wheeler has brought traffic to a standstill in Duncanville.

Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Traffic Reporter "Captain" Ray Allen told The Thread that earlier Wednesday morning, a passenger vehicle slammed into the side of a logging truck, bursting into flames.

Allen first received notice of the wreck thanks to a traffic spotter in the Duncanville Fire Department, who was called to the scene. He said at this time, he's not sure if the driver of the vehicle was able to get out. He's unclear what their status is.

However, Allen did say that some cars are moving past the now partial blockage on Highway 82.

"Some cars are now getting through, but it's very slow," he said. "If there was a fatality, they would've kept all the eastbound lanes shut down. I doubt they would be letting anyone past."
