Jerry Koster, Sr., age 80 of Tuscaloosa, passed away May 9, 2023 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Magnolia Chapel South with Pastor Chad Burdette and Bro. Cliffton Patterson officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial will follow at Little Sandy Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday at the chapel from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

He is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife Sylvia Koster, parents; Horace and Gladys Koster, brothers; Larry Koster, H.C. Koster, Ken Koster and his sister Peggy Pritchett.

He is survived by his sons; Jerry "Bud" Koster, Jr. (Michelle), Dave Koster (Patricia), sisters; Sue Hamner, Sheila Tilley, grandchildren; Mallory Cantrell (Zach), Lauren Harvey (AJ), and his great-grandchildren; Will, Maddie, Noah, Paislee and Charlee Jo.

Jerry loved the Lord's outdoors, from hunting to fishing to gardening. He started a hunting farm with his sons Bud and Dave called Tri -K Farms. He was a skilled automotive technician and a faithful Pastor. He has actively pastored churches for over 51 years. He was called to preach at Little Sandy Baptist Church to serve as pastor at Pondville Baptist Church in Bibb County, then to be associate pastor at Eastern Gate Baptist Church in Cottondale. He then went on to pastor at Elrod Baptist church and then Indian Lake Baptist Church where he served as interim pastor. He then served at Community Baptist Church in Moundville and in 2019 he was called to pastor at Rosedale Baptist Church until Easter Sunday of 2022.

Pallbearers will be Benji Stringfellow, Robert Skelton, Greg and Kelton Camp, and Brian and Ethan Puckett. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of Rosedale Baptist Church, Members of Community Baptist Church, City of Tuscaloosa Police Department, Employees of Atlas Welding Supply, Employees of Premier Service Company, Tuscaloosa County Baptist Association, Alabama Mens Deacon Retreat, and Ken Swindle.
