A person is dead after another shooting in Tuscaloosa late Sunday night, police report.

Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, alerted media to the shooting a few minutes before midnight Sunday.

He said the Tuscaloosa Police Department and VCU are on the scene of a shooting at 5100 Old Montogomery Highway in Tuscaloosa.

One male is dead, Sellers said.

It is the third deadly shooting in Tuscaloosa County this month.

UPDATE: VCU Commander Captain Jack Kennedy said in a Monday afternoon update that the deadly shooting took place at Landmark Apartments on Old Greensboro Road, and the address given at the time of the shooting was incorrect.

He said police found one male deceased from a shooting at the apartments, where crime scene tape was visible in exterior trash cans Monday afternoon.

No arrest has been made as of 3:30 p.m.  The investigation is active and ongoing.  Anyone who has any information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Violent Crime Unit at 205-464-8690.
