Below is a statement sent to the Tuscaloosa Thread from the Director of Public Relations for Tuscaloosa City Schools Lydia Avant.

There is no current threat at either Central High School or Paul W. Bryant High School. Both schools have had normal school days today with no lockdown.

During a random security search at Paul W. Bryant High School today, which we hold regularly throughout the year, a loaded magazine was discovered. However, there were no weapons found on campus. The situation was handled, following our student code of conduct.
Again, there are no current threats to either school, and no weapons were found at any TCS school today.
We will continue to make school safety our top priority and appreciate the support and collaboration with the Tuscaloosa Police Department.
