Mercedes-Benz U.S. International (MBUSI) has announced a pivotal change in leadership with the appointment of Federico Kochlowski as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective April 30, 2024. Kochlowski will succeed Michael Goebel, who, after five years of dedicated service as CEO, will transition to a new strategic role for Mercedes-Benz production in North America.

Kochlowski brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having served in various manufacturing leadership roles at Mercedes-Benz across the United States, China, and Mexico. His journey at MBUSI began in 2023 when he assumed the role of Vice President of Operations.

Expressing his admiration for MBUSI's workforce, Kochlowski emphasized their dedication not only to producing quality vehicles but also to fostering a supportive community within the company. The Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant, established in 1993 as the first major Mercedes-Benz plant outside Germany, has played a pivotal role in the company's global operations. With approximately two-thirds of its annual production exported, MBUSI stands as one of the largest automotive exporters in the United States. Over the years, the plant has produced over four million vehicles and currently employs over 6,000 Team Members.

Federico Kochlowski's appointment as President and CEO marks a new chapter in MBUSI's journey of innovation and growth. Federico Kochlowski, currently Vice President of Operations at North America at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International (MBUSI), will assume the role of President & CEO at MBUSI effective May 1st, 2024, succeeding Michael Goebel. Kochlowski brings a rich history of leadership in the automotive industry, including roles at Chrysler, DaimlerChrysler, BBDC, COMPAS, and most recently, MBUSI.
