Good morning West Alabama. It is Monday, November 11,2024.

Monday Morning Observations:

It is Veteran's Day! This is the day to honor all of those who have worn the uniform of the United States Military. Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard. To each of you thank you. Whether drafted or enlisted, your service is appreciated and the reason we remain a free nation. Thank you for your service!

The old slogan is true, "Freedom is not Free." It has not been protestors, politicians, media or celebrities that have kept this nation free Those things are biproducts of a strong military, made strong by those willing to sacrifice for their county.

On Veteran's Day last year Newsweek published a story stating..."A majority of American adults would not be willing to serve in the military were the U.S. to enter into a major war, recent polling has found, public confidence in the armed forces appears to be waning.

That does not bode well at a time when our enemies are being more and more belligerent. China, Russia, Iran, North Korea and other similar nations have been open that they see the USA as their number one enemy. All of them are building bigger, better and stronger militaries to counter the U.S. and free world. That reality makes it that much more important to recognize the job done by those who have served and are serving in the U.S. military.

So, in this dangerous world, it is more important than ever to salute those currently in uniform and those that have proudly worn it for their service.

Thank you to the few from the many who have benefitted from your service.
