James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said these thunderstorms could be “more numerous over the northern counties.”

“Some of the storms could be strong with gusty winds and small hail, but the overall severe weather risk is low. SPC has much of the state in a "marginal risk" (level 1/5),” said Spann.

Possible Threats

The National Weather Service in Birmingham said the primary threats are “damaging winds up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail.”
