Tuscaloosa Aims To Retain College Talent After Graduation
Tuscaloosa has been selected as a host community for the 2026 Fuel Alabama program, a statewide initiative led by the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama.
Inovate Alabama is also a partner for this project to attract and retain young talent after graduation.

The program connects college interns and students with professional development, networking, and local experiences designed to showcase why West Alabama should be their choice to build a career and a life after they graduate.
FuelAl; Tuscaloosa is led by a group of partners, including the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama and the Tuscaloosa Economic Development Authority.
Tuscaloosa joins other communities, including Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile, and Montgomery, in offering the FuelAl: Tuscaloosa Summer 2026 program.
Across Alabama, the venture is expected to engage over 1,000 students and, hopefully, lead to meaningful connections with employers and community leaders.
In addition to the local program, students will have the opportunity to participate in statewide FuelAL: Tuscaloosa planning sessions, which will hopefully bring together more students from across Alabama for professional development and peer networking.
The program is open to students and interns from any college or university in West Alabama.
Any students who are interested in participating in the FuelAl; Tuscaloosa program can apply here.
There is no cost to participate, and all applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The kickoff for selected participants will take place in early June.
