Tuscaloosa Water Wins Multiple Awards
In the last couple of years, our local water supply has been the subject of some controversy.
Now, Tuscaloosa Water can crow about their work and its quality after snagging three awards from the Alabama Water & Pollution Control Association.
Tuscaloosa mayor Walt Maddox used social media (see below) to announce the accomplishment earlier today.
According to the mayor, Tuscaloosa Water has been recognized for excellence sixty times.
Maddox added, in his "Mayor's Minute" email service, that "Tuscaloosa Water provides City residents some of the cleanest drinking water in the nation".
He went on to say that the water supply in Tuscaloosa is "sparkling clean" and "always there" due to the organizations' commitment to exceed national standards rather than simply meeting them.
The three awards for 2023 came in these categories:
- The best-operated distribution system for our size
- Best-operated surface water treatment plant (Jerry Plott Plant)
- The three-year award for best-operated plant (Jerry Plott Plant)
